SIPTU represents a wide range of workers in the public services sector in Ireland – including  workers in health, local administration, social services, education, transport, energy, water and waste. As a result of the Union's efforts in organising workers in the public services sector, rates of pay and conditions of employment have improved over the years. SIPTU is also widely acknowledged as the driving force behind the ongoing campaign to improve standards in public services - particularly in health.

We invite members and others to join us in supporting the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) campaign to protect and strengthen public services that are vital to the wellbeing of all European citizens. The ETUC has launched a Europe-wide petition calling on the European Commission to take action.
