SIPTU officials to meet aircraft handlers and SR Technics management tomorrow

The SIPTU committee representing aircraft handlers met this evening to discuss the current dispute. “After a very constructive discussion we identified a mechanism that we believe can resolve the current impasse”, SIPTU Branch Organiser Pat Ward said.

“A general meeting of the 21 aircraft handlers involved will be held at 11 am tomorrow to provide them with the details. After that we will be seeking an immediate meeting with SR Technics. The details are not being disclosed ahead of the meetings.    

“While there has been understandable concern over this dispute I would like to point out that we have successfully negotiated wide ranging change in other areas of the plant, where we represent the majority of the workforce.”
