Allergan job losses underline need to upskill workers in at-risk sectors – O'Connor

The impending loss of 360 jobs at Allergan in Arklow is only the latest in a series of large scale redundancies in the manufacturing sector, SIPTU General President Jack O’Connor said today. “Time is long past for the Government to put in place an ambitious programme for upskilling workers, particularly in this sector, who have contributed so much to our prosperity in the past.
