A nationwide team of Organisers from the Strategic Organising Unit are working closely with the Utilities and Construction Division to ensure that even in difficult times SIPTU continues to maintain and grow its strength in the construction sector.

Each week dozens of site visits are carried out in support of construction workers and the terms of their Registered Employment Agreement. This is a nationally negotiated deal which sets legally binding minimum rates of pay and conditions. All building workers are entitled to these benefits. It is unlawful to be paid less.

Now, more than ever, it is crucial that construction workers act collectively to preserve this agreement. Every worker has his/her role to play and that role begins with joining SIPTU and standing shoulder to shoulder with your colleagues to defend your rate of pay and Terms and Conditions.
