LRC proposals on industrial action at FAS

Date Released: 26 May 2006

Greg Ennis SIPTU members at FAS head office are to meet on Monday to decide whether or not to accept proposals put forward by the Labour Relations Commission today to defuse the dispute over compulsory decentralisation to Birr.

SIPTU Branch Organiser, Greg Ennis, said after this morning’s meeting that negotiators for both sides had accepted the LRC proposals. So the Union will recommend acceptance to the members at Monday’s meeting, due to be held in the FAS head office at 4.30 pm.

If members vote to accept the LRC proposals, then further industrial action at the State training and employment agency will cease.
