SIPTU’s Education organises workers employed in both public and private educational institutions throughout the country. It caters for a diverse range of workers employed in schools and colleges at Primary, Secondary and Third Level.  SIPTU Academic and Research staff have joined with support staff (eg. Technical, Administrative and General Operative grades) to form a significant force within education.

The Education Sector works with union members to conclude collective agreements with their employers. It also promotes and defends members’ interests within their employments. The Union has significant engagement with the Department of Education & Skills on a broad range of issues of concern to union members.
