The SIPTU Energy Sector represents workers in the country’s major Energy, Forestry and Fisheries employments. The Sector’s members are spread across the Commercial Semi-State, Public and Private Sector.

The main employers in the Energy Sector are Bord na Mona, Bord Gais, Coillte, ESB, Inland Fisheries Ireland, BOC Gases and Calor GAS. Within the Energy Sector, SIPTU collectively bargains with employers on behalf of its members interests and where appropriate the SIPTU Energy Sector works closely with other Unions in negotiations with employers on common issues affecting all workers in each employment through Group of Union Forums and other bodies.
