Workers throughout the transport industry in Ireland are members of SIPTU. Among the Union's substantial membership in the sector are bus, rail, light rail, port workers and seafarers. The enterprises these workers are employed are in both the public and private sector throughout the island of Ireland. The Sector does not cater for haulage workers who are represented by the Wholesale and Retail Distribution Sector within the Services Division.
