IDEAS Institute provides upskilling training for SIPTU members. The Union has long held the view that upskilling has a critical role to play in helping companies to produce quality goods and services that can compete at home and abroad while also helping to sustain our members employment. SIPTU working jointly with progressive employers is making progress in this area.

The Chairperson of SIPTU’s IDEAS Institute is SIPTU General Secretary Joe O’Flynn.

Services and Support The IDEAS Institute delivers focused generic skills training in support of organisation objectives and assists in fostering a joint union-management approach to training and upskilling. IDEAS was established in February of 2001, by SIPTU as a trust, it is an independent corporate body that operates in the commercial arena.

IDEAS Institute has helped many thousands of SIPTU’s members to get upskilled in areas including basic and advanced computer training, teamworking, Personal Effectiveness at Work, customer service, train the trainer, start your own business, ECDL, job skills (CV/job interview skills), Safepass etc. Much of our training is accredited, but shorter courses are also available if required.

Course availability & discounts
Courses are available to SIPTU members, other union members, companies and the general public.

SIPTU members can avail of course discounts of up to €100.
