Vote by pilots marks a turning point in industrial relations at Ryanair

Date Released: 05 September 2018

Congress notes the acceptance today by Ryanair pilots, represented by Fórsa and IALPA, of proposals aimed at settling a dispute relating to conditions of employment at the airline. These proposals were drawn up during negotiations between the management of Ryanair and representatives of Fórsa and IALPA with the assistance of Congress.

Speaking after the announcement of the result of the ballot, Congress General Secretary, Patricia King, said: “The vote marks the beginning of the normalisation of relations between Ryanair, their staff and the unions representing workers in the company. We further  urge the company to build on the opportunity created by this important decision and to move immediately to conclude collective agreements with the unions representing staff in all parts of the airline.”
