A New Deal for Early Years' campaign launch

The SIPTU Big Start campaign together with a coalition of eleven other Early Years and civil society organisations will launch a set of proposals for the reform of childcare services in Ireland which would lead to an improved sector for children, families, workers and providers on Thursday, 8th July at 11.00 a.m. at the Defence Forces Memorial entrance, Merrion Square West, Dublin 2.

These proposals will constitute the basis of ‘A New Deal for Early Years’ campaign which will protest and lobby the Government to include the reforms in Budget 2022.

Early Years educators, parents and campaign spokespeople will be available for interview at the event.

The organisations involved are SIPTU, National Women’s Council, National Childhood Network, CRANN Support Services, National Community Childcare Forum, Irish Congress of Trade Unions, OMEP Ireland (World Organisation for Early Childhood Education), Further Education Teachers Network, Association of Childhood Professionals (ACP), Men In Childcare, PLÉ (The Irish Association of Academics in Early Childhood Education and Care in Higher Education) and SPARK (Single Parents Acting For Rights of Kids).
