The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has called for a National Workplace Moment of Reflection for Peace in Palestine at lunchtime on Wednesday 4th June.

Where possible workers are asked to take a silent moment with their colleagues at 1.05pm on Wednesday, 4th June, which is International UN Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.

Photos of participating groups of workers can be posted online with the hashtag #StandWithPalestine and/or sent to ceasefire@siptu.ie, or by direct message to the SIPTU Facebook page and Instagram account.

SIPTU Deputy General Secretary, Ethel Buckley, said: “Over the last eighteen months, because of Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza, more than 15,000 children have died and 34,000 been injured. The world has witnessed horrifying scenes in recent weeks where the conflict has entered a particularly brutal stage. Israel has enforced a total blockade on Gaza and has been using food as a weapon of war against the Palestinians, leading to mass starvation.”

SIPTU has produced a set of posters for the moment of reflection which you will find attached. These are designed to print on A4 on office or home printers. The posters are a combination of colour and black and white. Please feel free to use your preferred version.
