SIPTU members at Tim Hastings Garage in Westport, County Mayo, have welcomed a decision by management to attend a Labour Court hearing, on Friday, 4th November, concerning a dispute related to the implementation of enforced redundancies. SIPTU Sector Organiser, John McCarrick, said: “The decision of management to attend this hearing, after its initial refusal, follows our members voting in favour of industrial action in relation to this dispute which involves the compulsory redundancy of four of their colleagues. “If management seek to once again frustrate the industrial relations process our members will have no alternative but to act on the strong mandate they have for industrial action.”
