SIPTU has expressed its disappointment with the decision of the Pensions Board to reject proposals, agreed by unions and management, which were aimed at overcoming the crisis in the Aer Lingus/Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) pension scheme. SIPTU Sector Organiser, Dermot O’Loughlin, said: “We are very disappointed with the Pension Board’s decision in relation to these proposals. SIPTU representatives will be going back to our members to discuss what further action we will take to ensure that the pension rights of Aer Lingus workers are respected.”He added: “This decision by the Pensions Board is by no means the end of the process.”
