SIPTU has today (Friday, 4th July) suspended strike action at Roadstone Woods Ltd., pending a ballot of members, in accordance with a Labour Court Recommendation. SIPTU Organiser, Davy Lane, said: “The decision to suspend the strike was made this afternoon by the National Committee of SIPTU members in Roadstone Woods Ltd. “SIPTU members will now ballot on the proposals contained in the Labour Court Recommendation. The ballot will be conducted on Monday, 7th July, and Tuesday, 8th July. The ballot will be counted on the evening of Tuesday, 8th July. The National Committee has not made any recommendation to members on how they should vote in the ballot.” The strike by SIPTU members at Roadstone Woods Ltd. facilities began on Monday, 16th June, in a dispute concerning an attempt by management to implement major cuts to workers’ wages.
