The Support Sector Committee has secured a date with the Workplace Relations Committee (WRC) to re-engage on its outstanding concerns regarding the Job Evaluation Scheme.
In 2023, SIPTU secured a positive outcome to the national job evaluation scheme for support grades as set out in HSE circular 003/2023.
A significant number of members secured pay increases under the scheme; however, a small number of grades were unsuccessful.
Since then, the Support Sector Committee has sought to progress a claim for a re-evaluation of the grades that were unsuccessful in the process.
“The Sector Committee remain steadfast in their efforts to secure a just outcome for our members. We will bring the concerns of our members to the upcoming WRC conciliation conference,” SIPTU Sector Organiser Damian Ginley said.
The Committee will attend the conciliation later this month, and the HSE has confirmed that it will attend.
The WRC will consider two outstanding matters: the Union’s claim for a re-evaluation as per the original terms and the supervisors’ pay anomaly arising from the outcome of the evaluation.
An earlier WRC hearing was adjourned to allow the Union time to progress several grade issues arising with the implementation of the above national job evaluation scheme circular.
During that time, the Health Division have secured the conversion of almost 2000 WTE members from Band 4 support grades into higher bands through this local process.
