SIPTU members of Blanchardstown and Inner-City Home Care will commence strike action on Tuesday (12th May) for failure by management to fully implement the 2023 Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) Agreement.

Within the agreement, SIPTU members were to receive an 8% pay increase backdated to 1st April 2023. However, Blanchardstown and Inner City Home Care have failed to fully implement these increases or provide any of the outstanding money owed.

“Management put forward a proposal of lesser value than the WRC recommendation despite having received the increase in funding from the HSE to cover the costs necessary at the time,” SIPTU Organiser, Michelle Waller, said.

“Our members are providing essential care to those most vulnerable in society and are seeking a pay increase in-line with those of their colleagues in other Section 39 organisations.”
