MEMBERS BALLOTING IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR!
Health Division members across the country have commenced ballots for industrial and strike action over the Government’s failure to meaningfully engage in a successor Public Service Pay Agreement.
Throughout July and August, SIPTU Organisers and Shop Stewards have been holding consultations and briefing sessions in hospitals around the country.
The message coming from members is clear. We’ve been hearing the same thing everywhere: workers are fed up waiting for the Government to act.
Members want real talks that recognise the hard work public servants do and help with the rising cost of living that’s affecting everyone. We want protection in their workplace and a stop to the outsourcing of services.
We need an agreement that delivers for public service health workers.
Alongside these consultation sessions, we’ve kicked off Phase 1 of our workplace ballots in several major health service locations.
If your workplace is in Phase 1, but you have not yet voted in the ballot or engaged in a briefing session, please contact your Shop Steward or local SIPTU Health Organiser.
If your workplace is not in Phase 1, do not worry; Phase 2 locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
However, now is the time to make sure your location is ready when called.
We need to ensure we have a strong membership within each work location to deliver the best possible outcome.
Your participation is crucial.
When you vote, you’re making sure your voice is heard.
You’re helping us all stand up for fair pay and better conditions.
Don’t leave it to others. If we all do our bit, the Government will have to listen.
Stand with your colleagues and make your vote count and if you know someone who is not a member, make sure they join so everyone can have a say in your future!
Balloting will continue for the month of August to allow members to deliver the strongest possible mandate to the Union.
